Kepala Satpol PP Tanah Datar melalui Fauzi Arifin ketika dihubungi membenarkan, jika pihaknya telah mengirimkan armada dan personil untuk membantu memadamkan, namun karena jarak TKP (Tempat Kejadian Peristiwa) membutuhkan waktu, maka bangunan telah hangus jadi abu.
Fauzi menjelaskan, bangunan yang terbakar tersebut memikiki luas sekitar 5 X 20 Meter, terdiri dari rumah semi permanen dan ada warung pada bahagian depannya, dihuni oleh pasangan suami isteri, karena anaknya pergi merantau ke Pekan Baru dan Jakarta.
Terkait dengan asal api, kata Fauzi Arifin, masih dalam penyelidikan pihak berwajib, karena mayoritas warga di lokasi mengetahui api sudah membesar, pada bagian depan rumah merupakan warung. Sementara kerugian ditaksir sekitar Rp. 250,- juta.
Fauzi melanjutkan, untuk pemadaman api, pihak Damkar telah menurunkan 2 unit armada, masing-masing 1 unit dari Posko Salimpaung dan 1 unit dari Posko Batusangkar, dengan personil sebanyak 15 orang.(WD)
